Tehničke karakteristike
It can be seen that the voltages of the △ and Y-shaped connection methods are 220V and 380V, respectively, and there is another commonly used motor with △ and Y-shaped connection methods, which have voltages of 380V and 660V, respectively; The voltage of the Y-shaped connection method is three times the root sign of the voltage of the △ connection method. The power of these two connection methods is the same, P=UI, because the voltage of the △ connection method is small, the current of the △ connection method is large, and similarly, the current of the Y-shaped connection method is small; So in engineering, the Y-shaped connection method is often used because the current of the Y-shaped connection method is small. When selecting wires, the wires can be thinner, which can save some money and is more economical.
Someone has a question, can the voltage of these two connection methods be reversed? Why are the voltages of the two connection methods different? The answer is that it cannot be reversed, which is determined by the internal winding of the motor. After a certain motor is manufactured, the voltage and current that its winding can withstand are also determined. Taking the nameplate above as an example, the voltage that the winding of this motor can withstand for a long time during normal operation is 220V, When using the △ connection method, the line voltage is equal to the phase voltage (PS: When the voltage and current mentioned in three-phase equipment are not specified, they are default to the line value, that is, the 220V and 380V on the nameplate are both line voltages. Regarding what is line voltage and phase voltage, and their relationship, we will explain them in later articles, pay attention to not getting lost), so the voltage of each phase winding is 220V; When using the Y-shaped connection method, the line voltage is equal to three times the phase voltage of the root sign, so the voltage of each phase winding is 380 divided by the root sign three, which is also 220V; So it cannot be reversed.
The consequences of reverse connection: Firstly, when the △ connection method is used to connect 380V, it is equivalent to overvoltage of the motor, exceeding the voltage borne by the winding, which may cause insulation breakdown of the motor winding and motor burnout; Secondly, when the Y-shaped connection is 220V, it is equivalent to undervoltage of the motor. When the load carried by the motor remains unchanged, it is equivalent to constant power. However, as the voltage decreases, the current increases, which can cause the motor to overheat and even burn out. This explains why it cannot be reversed.
